Scott J. Brown, PhD, Senior Vice President and Chief Economist, RJF - Scott J. Brown, Ph.D. is Senior Vice President and Chief Economist at Raymond James and provides regular economic commentary for Raymond James advisors and their clients. Before his arrival at the firm in 1993, he was manager of economic research at Pacific First Bank in Seattle and had previously been director of economic research at First Imperial Advisors in San Diego. Dr. Brown earned his doctorate in economics from the University of California at San Diego, where he studied time series analysis and forecasting under Nobel Laureates Robert F. Engle and Clive W.J. Granger. He also holds a Master of Science degree in statistics from the University of Illinois and a BA in mathematics from the University of California at Irvine. He serves on the Economic Advisory Committee of the American Bankers Association and is a member of the Bond Market Association’s Economic Advisory Committee.
John Klick, Senior Vice President, FTI Consulting - Following 13 years as Global Head of FTI Consulting’s Economic Consulting segment, John Klick has taken on a new role focused on deepening the firm’s relationships with key clients across the Company’s businesses. He will continue to co-head the firm’s Energy, Power & Products (“EPP”) industry group, as well as serve as a member of the firm’s Executive Committee.
Mr. Klick is widely recognized as a leading expert on issues such as economic damages, economic costs, pricing of regulated services, mergers and acquisitions, and antitrust. He has more than 40 years of experience on these issues across a number of industries, including telecommunications, energy and transportation.
He has provided expert testimony on a wide range of issues before federal and state courts, arbitration panels, regulatory commissions, and numerous state regulatory agencies and mediators. Mr. Klick is expert at analyzing complex economic models and calculating economic damages; examining the public and private benefits of proposed mergers and acquisitions; assessing the marginal, incremental and standalone costs of services provided by regulated network industries; and evaluating the pricing of access to network facilities.
Mr. Klick has helped numerous financial institutions assess investment opportunities across industries and also has arbitrated complex contract performance disputes between Fortune 50 companies.
Peter Ricchiuti (Ri-Chooty), Senior Professor of Practice, William B. Burkenroad, Jr. Clinical Professor - In 1993, Professor Ricchiuti founded Burkenroad Reports, an investment research program at Tulane University. Here, he leads a team of more than 200 of the University’s business students in the search of the investment ‘skinny’ on undervalued and overlooked stocks in six southern states.
