Calling all current MBA and JD/LLM students at Baruch College, Columbia University, Cornell University, NYU, Fordham University and St. John’s University!
Are you interested in learning why one company restructures its capital structure outside of bankruptcy, while another goes through a court-supervised chapter 11 process; or why one company emerges from bankruptcy intact, while another is liquidated, dismantled, or even dissolved?
Join us as a group of turnaround / restructuring professionals discuss these and other pressing issues in the context of The Restructuring of Danfurn LLC case (available for students to receive at no cost). Student participation is welcome and encouraged.
Even though the economy has had an unprecedented run since the 2008 financial crisis, companies have needed to go through a turnaround/restructuring process as they deal with the creative destruction inherent in our economy. As the end of the boom will inevitably arrive, the number of companies needing to restructure will increase.
Whether or not you are interested in pursuing a career in the field of turnaround/restructuring (management, finance, or investment), it is likely you will encounter the process at some point in your career. Understanding the motives and decisions that drive the process may benefit you, whether it is your employer, a client, a customer, a vendor, or even a friend who may be going through the process in the future.
