Topic: Navigating Retail Restructuring During the Pandemic
The COVID-19 pandemic has had a severe negative impact on the already distressed retail sector. The pandemic added operational constraints to changing consumer habits, further altering the retail landscape and creating new bankruptcy challenges. The curtailed (and in some cases, shut down) operations have required restructuring professionals to revisit their “tools” and options to approach these very challenging turnaround situations.
Our panelists will discuss how retail cases are entering bankruptcy since the start of the pandemic (whether liquidations, reorganizations or going concern sales) and how these approaches are affecting creditor recoveries, including issues arising with respect to plan feasibility, administrative insolvency, and valuation, as well as lease-related litigation. Join us in the discussion on October 7. Thank you to our sponsors, AlixPartners and Gordon Brothers for hosting this event!
