John S. Traynor, President, Cambridge Trust Wealth Management of Connecticut

As President of Cambridge Trust Wealth Management of Connecticut, John directs the overall Wealth Management process and has ultimate responsibility for the success of each client relationship. He has appeared regularly on CNBC, Nightly Business Report and Fox Business Network, as well as being quoted in the NY Times and Wall Street Journal.

Prior to joining Cambridge Trust in 2022, John served as CIO, EVP of People’s United Advisors since 2011 where he directed the overall investment process. During his tenure, People’s grew their assets under management from $3.5 billion to $10.4 billion. Prior to People’s he served as Director of Investment Strategy and Alternative Investments at Hawthorn, a $22 billion family office in the PNC Financial Services Group.

Dr. Spyridon G. Patton, Adjunct Instructor, Graduate School of Business of St. Leo University

Dr. Spyridon (Spiro) Patton received the Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Pittsburgh in 1978. He was a full professor at Penn State, Widener University and Villanova until 1993. He was the author, or joint author of over 50 papers and studies. He also served on the President’s Commission for Social Security Reform (1982-83). Between 1993 and 2000 Dr. Patton became involved with family businesses and retail management, most notably with Walmart. In 2000 he moved from Pennsylvania to Florida. After 3 years in secondary education, Dr. Patton returned to the college classroom, where he still serves. At present he is an adjunct instructor with Hillsborough Community College, Pasco-Hernando State College, and primarily with the Graduate School of Business of St. Leo University, where he teaches the Managerial Economics course.

 

Dr. Ruediger Mueller, CTP, President & Senior Partner, TCMI, Inc

Dr. Mueller brings more than 25 years of corporate and consulting experience to his position as President and Senior Partner of TCMI, Inc. (www.tcmius.com), a consulting group specializing in operational, growth, and turnaround management. He is a Certified Turnaround Professional (CTP), an active member of the Turnaround Management Association (TMA) and serves on national and international committees of the TMA. Dr. Mueller is also a recognized leadership expert who has worked with the c-level suites of major US and international organizations.

Formerly, Dr. Mueller held various c-level positions (CEO, CRO, COO) in corporations from about $ 30 Million to $ 350 Million in sales that served the automotive, construction, furniture, and cabinet making industries. He serves as CRO/CEO/COO in client organizations and has experience in turnaround and restructuring in and out of bankruptcy. He has consulted and worked extensively in industries including the following:

  • Specialty Chemicals, Including Medical Adhesives
  • Manufacturing and Distribution
  • Automotive Tier 1
  • Machinery and Machine Tools
  • Construction Materials, Architectural Hardware, Real Estate
  • Textiles, Supplements, Cosmetics, and Luxury Goods
  • Health Care Providers

Having worked in multinational corporations with exposure to a variety of industries, Dr. Mueller has extensive international experience in Europe as well as the Far East. He has experience in strategic planning, general management, manufacturing, marketing/sales, and operations. Turn around and IT experiences add to Dr. Mueller’s range of capabilities. He has also served as court appointed emergency receiver to preserve corporate assets for the benefit of creditors.

Earlier in his career Dr. Mueller served on the business faculty of Gettysburg College and the University of Wisconsin where he taught courses in Marketing, Small Business Management, International Business, and Information Technology and published on these subjects. His industrial IT experience includes responsibility for ERP implementations with budgets from $ 500,000 to over $ 15 Million.

Graduate degrees from US and German Universities in Economics and Business including a dual doctoral degree focused on economics and strategic planning and control systems, combined with a professional career at large corporations as well as smaller companies give Dr. Mueller the expertise to lead domestic and global corporations to success and profitability.

Throughout his career, Dr. Mueller has been a hands-on leader who feels as much at home on the manufacturing floor as in the executive suite. His leadership style has earned him the admiration of both, his peers and board members he reported to as well as his subordinates and resulted in successful turnarounds and significant growth. His strong focus on leadership and people have allowed him to build strong performance oriented organizational cultures that were at the same time capable of reacting quickly to changing market conditions and were highly productive. This extensive background and experience provide a value-added benefit to his clients during an engagement.

Dr. Mueller is an active member of the Turnaround Management Association (TMA). He is a past member of the Board of the Florida Chapter where he chaired the Education Committee. He also serves on both, the national Certification Oversight Committee and the Standards Committee for CTP (Certified Turnaround Professional) certifications. He is strongly committed to educational outreach and is working with several universities on a variety of graduate level educational programs that improve an understanding of turnaround issues and distressed organizations and improve recognition of the TMA and the CTP certification. He is also part of the team that is currently updating the TMA Body of Knowledge. In addition, Dr. Mueller serves as Chapter 11, Subchapter V trustee for the middle district of Florida of the US Trustee’s Office in Tampa Region 21), where he has handled and is currently handling more than 45 sometimes highly adversarial cases, the majority of which successfully emerged from bankruptcy.

Attendance in this session confers 1.2 CPE credits in Economics. The program level is Basic and there are no prerequisites to attend.
