David Fischer and Nick McDearis have joined Monroe Capital as managing directors. Based in the firm’s Atlanta office, they co-lead the firm’s relationship sourcing and origination of new business opportunities within the Southeast region. Fischer and McDearis were both previously with AloStar Capital Finance.

Mike Gorman and Luis Pillich have joined Stout as directors, and Matthew Arden joins the firm as a vice president. Gorman and Pillich have vast international and domestic client engagement experience across key middle market industries and have managed a broad range of M&A transaction structures, including Section 363 sales and plans of reorganization, out-of-court restructurings, U.C.C. Article 9
transactions, asset sales, debt sales, and equity purchases. Arden has advised distressed and special situations clients on M&A, private placements, financial restructurings, and valuation assignments ranging from $10 million to $500 million. Gorman and Arden were previously with SSG Capital Advisors, and Pillich was with Versa Capital Management.

Marti Kopacz has been appointed chief development officer and Michael Brandt has been named chief operating officer at Gordon Brothers. Previously, Kopacz has served as a CRO, court-appointed expert, Chapter 11 trustee, and examiner. She is a Certified Management Accountant, a CIRA, and a Fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy. In her new role Kopacz leads Gordon Brothers’ marketing, business development, and corporate development. As COO, Brandt leads the firm’s finance, IT, investor relations, and facilities functions. He has also been appointed to the firm’s Investment Committee. Previously, Brandt served as CFO of Prudential’s International Insurance Holdings and Retirement Services businesses. 

Sufyian Moten has joined High Ridge Partners LLC, and Greg Apathy and Chris Ciannella have been promoted to managing directors of the firm. Previously, Moten worked as a lead analyst at a financial services firm, where he focused on projects involving financial regulations and process improvement. Before that, he was employed at a national restructuring firm, where his focus was on preparing detailed turnaround business plans. Apathy, a CPA, CIRA, and CFF, has been with High Ridge Partners for nearly 18 years, and Ciannella, a CPA, jointed the firm last year.

Sandy Prabhakar has joined the Armory Group LLC as a managing director in the firm’s investment banking and restructuring advisory divisions in Chicago. He brings more than 20 years of investment banking, consulting, and commercial finance experience to the firm’s middle market practice. Previously,  Prabhakar held senior positions in the investment bank at KPMG, the restructuring advisory group at Deloitte, GE Commercial Finance, Heller Financial, and GE Capital Canada.

Cynthia Romano, Antony Walker; and Chris Creger have joined CohnReznick LLP as principals, and Eric Danner, CTP, has joined the firm as a partner. Romano co-leads the firm’s Restructuring & Dispute Resolution Practice and is based in its New York and Long Island offices. Walker is based in Boston and has 30 years of experience in financial and operational planning and execution, as well as turnaround and crisis leadership. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant and a CIRA. Based in New York and New Jersey, Creger provides financial advisory, business restructuring, and transaction support services to corporations, debtors, bondholders, hedge funds, law firms, lending institutions, private equity firms, secured lenders, unsecured creditors, and other constituents. Danner is based in Boston and New York, and provides advisory services to publicly traded and privately held companies serving a range of industries. With more than 20 years of experience, he focuses on crisis management, as well as implementing turnaround business plans.

Mark J. Simshauser has joined CBC Business Credit as senior vice president of business development on the firm’s asset-based lending team. He is responsible for loan growth throughout the northeastern U.S. Simshauser was previously with Triumph Commercial Finance, where he served as Northeast regional manager.
