Maria O’Brien is a partner with Baker McKenzie Australia and head of the Restructuring & Insolvency practice. She is the current chair and immediate past president of TMA Australia and is an INSOL Fellow. She is a Band 1 ranked practitioner Restructuring/Insolvency by Chambers and has been listed as Leading Individual every year since 2011. O’Brien has also ranked in the peer-assessed Best Lawyers for Insolvency and Reorganisations every year since 2009.
Jennifer Ball is a partner with Clayton Utz. She has extensive experience in restructuring and insolvency, debt recovery, general commercial litigation, and alternative dispute resolution, working with major corporations in mining, industrial manufacturing, telecommunications, and construction. Her commercial litigation work covers all forms of dispute resolution, including court litigation (obtaining urgent freezing orders), negotiation, and mediation. Ball is a director and a former chair of TMA Australia and former chair of the NSW TMA Committee.
Melissa Ferreira is a senior associate at Clayton Utz in the National Restructuring and Insolvency team. She advises stakeholders of distressed companies in both solvent and formal restructuring scenarios and is an experienced insolvency litigator. She has a particular interest in the complex issues arising when restructuring heavily regulated industries, such as oil & gas and aged care. Ferreira is a member of the West Australian TMA Committee.
