Empowering Ourselves Through Member Value

From Crisis to Clarity

As we come to the end of 2023, and look ahead to the new year, there is much to be proud of in TMA Nation.

This year was special indeed—it was a period where member value took on a whole new meaning and the worldwide brand power of TMA continued to shine.

In 2023, a time when TMA Lights The Way, we not only celebrated the luminaries who were groundbreaking and defining in what they have meant to the corporate restructuring profession at the TMA Annual 35th Anniversary Hall of Fame Induction, but also through the learnings of their inspirational stories, we have charted a bright future for the next generation of professionals to follow.

This was the year where member value soared. It is the year where local programs and networking opportunities became more regional, as we saw chapters collaborate and find ways to connect and leverage our defining professional diversity.

Regional conference experiences in 2023 felt more global, with those from host regions seeing an influx of TMA members from all over the country and the world, experiencing our thriving organization over the horizon and finding member value in ways not previously explored and experienced.

TMA’s global conferences brought together more international members with our North American members than ever before, and our programming, now with the inclusion of international education, has opened the doors of thought leadership and opportunities that cross borders, bringing our big world closer together through TMA.

The launch of the first TMA Global International Symposium redefined TMA connectivity in the big tent, putting front and center the depth and reach of what it means to be a TMA member. With the first face-to-face opportunity to join more North American members and international members together, we have now set a path forward that will continue to enhance the globalism of our defining organization.

The NextGen community put a new lens on education and in panels that were more like workshops. With these endeavors, TMA created a tool chest of practical opportunities that provided our young professionals with real-world lessons and support as they refine their path forward in their professional journeys.

The women of NOW continue to tell their story—and through that story, they grow more empowering in our profession every day. Our ranks swell with professional excellence from this community. How they share, learn, and support each other exemplifies how TMA Lights The Way.

In shoring up professional support, the TMA Boot Camp opened doors to professionals from around the world to the enormous value of being a Certified Turnaround Professional. And as that professional designation continues to grow and shine, some of our newest chapters—including those in Chile, India, and Turkey—are on the precipice of launching certification opportunities too.

From sea to shining sea and across the globe, TMA offers opportunity and optionality wherever our members go. This is the story we created in 2023, and a story that is not at an end, but at a new beginning as we open the next chapter of what is to come in 2024 and beyond.

Thank you one and all for a year of TMA glory. It is what makes us all #bettertogether and #TMAProud.
