Jason W. Bank, Kerr Russell (TMA Detroit) is a Member at Kerr Russell and chair of the firm’s Bankruptcy and Restructuring Group. He has over 25 years of experience in commercial bankruptcy, out-of-court workouts, creditor’s rights and corporate law. Bank also serves as the firm’s General Counsel. Bank served as President of the Detroit Chapter of the TMA and served on the TMA’s Board of Directors from 2012 – 2018. For nearly ten years, Bank served as an adjunct professor of law at Michigan State University College of Law on the subject of Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization.
Bank explained that attending TMA events over several years has led to relationship building and bonds with other members who eventually became referral sources, subject matter experts, and valued resources for his practice.
“I recall playing golf in a foursome with a TMA member one year. We had an opportunity to spend some time together and get to know each other at the event,” said Bank, adding, “We continued to network over time, and he referred a potential engagement to me at the following year’s TMA golf outing.”
“From a professional perspective, relationship-building and extending my network is critically important to achieving solutions for my clients and building my practice,” said Bank. “I have met many TMA members over the years, including asset-based lenders, other financing and equity sources, investment bankers, workout bankers, financial advisors and other attorneys. TMA is an outstanding organization that helps you build long-term relationships that bear fruit in many ways,” he added.
