Peter C. Bolton, a founding member of Wolfson Bolton PLLC, has been a TMA member for over 10 years, and in that time he’s seen the power of the relationships he’s built displayed many times in his work with clients.
Bolton explained that attending conferences, local meetings, and seminars has been instrumental to growing his firm and personal network, and that developing trust in these relationships has been a critical component to this.“This involves not only trusting that I can refer opportunities to other members knowing that the referral will be well placed, but also trusting other TMA members when they are counterparties in a particular transaction,” he elaborated.
“My TMA membership has provided value to me many times over the years. One of the biggest benefits from building these relationships is developing trust.”
In fact, this trust even won him and his colleagues an award. In 2019, his firm represented a buyer in a distressed sale, where the seller's counsel and their investment banker/financial advisor were all long-time TMA members who he'd known and respected for many years.
"While all of the professionals fiercely represented their clients in the transaction, because of the trust and respect developed for each other, we successfully closed the deal. This transaction ultimately won TMA Transaction of the Year," Bolton explained.
Bolton is enthusiastic about the future of the association and the trust that runs throughout the TMA community.
"Looking ahead, I continue to meet new and younger members that have so much to offer the organization. It is clear to me that TMA has a bright future."
